2021: The Drexelbrook Year in Review

For the past year, 2021 seemed to be about making up for lost time. For The Drexelbrook, however, it was that and more. After 2020, 2021 was a year of expansion and growth, and a continued learning curve regarding the future of events.

Starting off the Year Right

At the beginning of 2021, we started off the year with an Open House. There was a new hope for wedding and event planning, and the community was ready to begin again. Our Open House also featured a live band showcase from BVTLive, adding some entertainment to the atmosphere. We had an amazing turnout for the Open House, which led to a plethora of events in the rest of 2021.

After the Open Houses, our Special Occasions catering service started up again for Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day Brunch. For Valentine’s Day, we offered something for everyone. While we offered our Special Occasions take out dinner, our restaurant, STREETLIGHT Kitchen & Bar also offered dine in. The Holiday Inn & Suites added to this with a Romantic Getaway Stay. While everyone’s comfort levels were constantly shifting, we were glad to offer a multitude of ways to celebrate. Moving forward, the way we plan our events and our industry as a whole are adapting to these constantly changing times.

An Influx of Events

On June 1st, we were officially back at full capacity for indoor events. People were anxious to get back to normal life, and we were ready to help. So many weddings had been pushed back from 2020 to 2021, but we also had weddings that had already been scheduled into 2021. Our reduced staff worked twice as hard to make sure that each couple celebrated the wedding of their dreams and we are thankful to have the hardworking staff that we do. From our sales team, to event operations staff, to chefs, maintenance, cleaners, and everyone in between, they have made all the difference.

Along with weddings, corporate events began coming back as well. During the summer, we helped plan a multitude of outdoor events. Some of these events included The Best of the Main Line finale and the PCMA PHL Tailgate Tradeshow. For The Best of the Main Line, we hosted a food truck festival in our hotel parking lot. Groups of people came out to enjoy live music, food, dessert, and drinks from all over the Main Line. It was great to see so many people in the industry come out for this amazing event.

We are thankful for another successful year of weddings and events at The Drexelbrook. We are ready for everything that 2022 brings, and are looking forward to what the future holds. As always, we will continue to help you plan, dine, celebrate, and so much more. Cheers to 2022!
